Heat|Issue 1021WESTLIFE...Westlife are back, ready to start swearing it all over again with a tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary. While it might feel to us that those 20 years have flown by, Mark Feehily – who looked damn fine when he and the boys popped into Magic Radio – recently reflected on what a difference two decades can make. He says, “Twenty years ago, I thought I looked terrible, and there were certain people who told me I looked too fat. I look back and I think I was f**king gorgeous. If only I could look like that now!” Well, we think you’re still a stunner, Mark. Heat|Issue 1021Katie pleads not guilty to drink-drivingWelcome to the 2019 edition of “Katie Price doing things to keep slowly ruining her life”. This time, our story starts in Bromley Magistrates’ Court, where last week, Katie pleaded not guilty to being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle. The 40 year old had been charged with the offence after her infamous pink Range Rover was found crashed in a bush last October. As she wasn’t seen to be physically driving it at the time, she wasn’t charged with drink-driving, but now that Katie has entered a not guilty plea for the offence of being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle, it is up to her and her legal team to prove that she had no intention of driving the vehicle while allegedly almost twice over the…2 min
Heat|Issue 1021GUTTED GAGA’S GLOBE SNUBBy all accounts, it really should have been her big moment – she had the showstopping dress and, we’re told, the pre-written acceptance speech to prove it. But Lady Gaga’s night at the Golden Globes turned sour last week, after she failed to take home the award for Best Actress for her stellar performance in A Star Is Born. And even though she delivered a prize-winning “gracious loser” performance once Glenn Close’s name had been called – and excitedly embraced the winner before she took to the stage – insiders say that the singer is still smarting from the industry snub. “There was such a massive build-up to the event and many in the industry were telling her that she was certain to win,” a source close to the singer…2 min
Heat|Issue 1021Cheryl’s secret agony auntIn times of crisis, we all need a shoulder to cry on and Cheryl is no different. After all, there’s only so many knocks one person can take, and it seems she’s reached breaking point following a negative response to new show The Greatest Dancer. Apparently, the 35 year old has found her very own Dear Deirdre in the form of an old ally, who knows how it feels to publicly fall from grace. Step forward ,Tulisa Contostavlos. “Cheryl feels as though she can’t catch a break, and she’s had it with everyone in her team making suggestions that aren’t working,” says an insider close to the singer, whose TV talent show was beaten in the ratings by ITV’s The Voice UK. “She knows Tulisa’s been in a worse position,…2 min
Heat|Issue 1021Kanye wants a mini TrumpJust when we thought the world couldn’t get worse, there’s a new Kardashian on the way and Kanye wants to name it Trump. Just let that sink in. After it was revealed that Kimye are expecting their fourth child, their second via surrogate, a source close to the couple tells heat that they are already fighting over baby names, “and it’s all because he wants to name their son Trump!” “At first Kim thought Kanye was joking, but he is being deadly serious about calling their baby boy Trump,” we’re told. “He said it was the perfect tribute to the US president – everyone knows Kanye is a huge fan of him – but Kim doesn’t feel the same way.” The couple are already parents to a uniquely-named gang of…1 min
Heat|Issue 1021Why the Spice Girls turned down £80mThey’re set to make a bundle from their much-hyped reunion tour, yet the Spice Girls have always insisted they’re doing it for the fans, not the money. Well, surprisingly, it seems that Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C might just be telling the truth, following reports that they have turned down an £80million offer to tour the US. The reason? Simmering tensions in the group, which they fear could explode if they spend any longer together than currently planned. So, friendship really DOES end after all – precisely 13 performances later. “They are apprehensive about doing more shows in the US, because they know from experience how long periods of time together on the road cause tension,” a source close to the band has said, explaining why,…2 min

Heat|Issue 1021Torso OF THE WEEKHUSBAND GOALS #123 LUKE EVANS Readers, take a look at this man and tell us, would you have rejected him in favour of a cursed, anthropomorphic creature who talks to household objects? Us neither. So, more fool you, Emma Watson. Luke stole the show as arrogant-but-hot rogue Gaston in the 2017 remake of Beauty And The Beast and, by the look of things, he’s as enchanting as ever – your loss is our gain, Ems. That being said, we’re unlikely to be the openly gay star’s type. We’ll soon see the 39 year old in upcoming comedy Murder Mystery, with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. But judging by these beachy shots, he’s clearly ready and waiting for his James Bond moment. Take note, filmmakers. Luke may be all glitz and…1 min
Heat|Issue 1021LIFE LESSONS FROM ’90S TEEN MOVIESWhen exactly was the golden age of cinema? As far as we’re concerned, there’s no question: movie magic peaked in 1999, with release after release of teen film gold. And, boy, did those films prepare us for every adolescent foible to come, despite the fact our secondary schools didn’t have a jock or cheerleader in sight. Sure, they may have packed their high schools with 30 year olds, and given us that epic first kiss, but they also taught us some important life lessons – ones that we still follow today. So, critics, you can keep your film noir, your CGI blockbusters and your indie flicks, because we know that the golden age of cinema happened 20 years ago. And we’ll never stop learning. Heat|Issue 1021BOYD’S TV LANDMY VERDICT ON… True Detective Season 3 Sky Atlantic/NOW TV The new series of True Detective isn’t exactly a bundle of laughs. Sure, it’s a story about the (fictional) case of two young siblings disappearing in a small town in the Ozarks in 1980. But the first season of this beautifully filmed show had, if anything, an even more bleak and grim central mystery, yet was enlivened no end by the brilliantly written buddy cop banter between its central detective duo, played by Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey. This time, the police partners are Wayne Hays (Mahershala Ali) and Roland West (Stephen Dorff), and they have a weirdly basic, almost monosyllabic, relationship. Ali, superb in Oscar-winning film Moonlight, has to play his character at three separate times in his life,…1 min
Heat|Issue 1021‘Sarah deserves a quieter life’CORRIE Any hope of lovebirds Sarah and Gary getting it on are nixed next week, when Audrey comes to stay (because of her dry rot issues , LOL) and they’re relegated to lilos in the living room. Romantic. But that’s not their only problem, as a cash-strapped Gaz loses out on the contract on Audrey’s house and stupidly considers working for Joe again. Sarah’s obvs fuming and finds herself back at Adam’s, as actress Tina O’Brien explains... Is Sarah annoyed when Nicola returns with baby Zack? Heat|Issue 1021WHO’S WHO IN TIN STAR?JACK WORTH (TIM ROTH) Given that it would be disastrous for the show to kill him off, it’s safe to say Jack is still alive after his daughter Anna tried to bump him off. But will he remember anything that happened on the mountaintop or why his family resent him? ANGELA WORTH (GENEVIEVE O’REILLY) While Angela’s had to put up with a lot from Jack, as the torture scene in series one shows, she’s hardly pure as the driven snow herself. Now, after everyone got trigger happy on the mountain, she has to decide where her loyalties lie. ANNA WORTH (ABIGAIL LAWRIE) Despite Whitey killing her little brother, Anna doesn’t seek revenge, but tries to protect him when her dad wants to put a bullet in him, and ends up…1 min
Heat|Issue 10215 GlassStarring: James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson, Sarah Paulson Director: M Night Shyamalan THE PLOT A sequel to both writer-director Shyamalan’s Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2016), this contrives to lock up those two films’ three main characters in the same mental hospital. There, a plucky psychologist (Paulson) probes the minds of mysterious vigilante David Dunn (Willis), devious comic-book theorist Elijah Price (Jackson) and the highly disturbed Kevin Crumb (McAvoy), who suffers from multiple-personality disorder. WHAT’S RIGHT WITH IT? If you enjoyed McAvoy’s unhinged shtick in Split, there’s plenty more of that here, and entertainingly so, while Shyamalan devotees will enjoy seeing these worlds collide. WHAT’S WRONG WITH IT? Working with a too-modest budget and mostly in a single location, the director takes our interest too much for granted. VERDICT…1 min
Heat|Issue 10217 Danny Dyer’s Right Royal FamilyFollowing Danny Dyer’s discovery on Who Do You Think You Are? that he is a direct descendant of Edward III (his 22 times grandpa), the Beeb realised a two-parter on Danny exploring his royal connections – leading all the way back to Viking Rollo in 846 AD – would be TV gold. And they’re not wrong. Over the course of an hour, Danny throws himself into the “right nutty royal caper”, heading to Sweden to take part in a re-enactment of a Viking fight (feasting on sheep’s tongue afterwards), embracing William The Conqueror’s passion for horses and generally having a laugh. Most amusing of all is the notorious potty mouth carrying a swear box around as a nod to his puritanical gramps Louis IX. ★★★★ Kay Ribeiro…1 min

Heat|Issue 102115 Mary Queen Of ScotsStarring: Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie, Jack Lowden Director: Josie Rourke THE PLOT In Britain’s tangled mid-16th-century politics, Scottish queen Mary (Ronan) must maintain the support of her own nobles, while not antagonising powerful neighbour Queen Elizabeth of England (Robbie). One crucial decision: choosing the right husband. WHAT’S RIGHT WITH IT? Ronan is predictably captivating as the fierce monarch, who knows that any son she produces has a good chance of uniting the English and Scottish thrones. WHAT’S WRONG WITH IT? The physical separation of this story’s two main characters is a challenge the film cannot quite overcome. VERDICT A decent effort, but this complicated slice of history might have been better served by a mini-series. ★★★ Charles Gant…1 min

Heat|Issue 1021When Madonna was Snatch-edDoesn’t it just feel like simpler times looking at these two? Look how normal Madonna’s face is. Look how happy Guy Ritchie is, pretending to be all scary. Look at them in their matching power suits. The year was 2001, and Madonna and Guy were doing their power couple thing at the premiere of his film Snatch, just three weeks after their A-list wedding at a Scottish Castle. The pair met in 1999, after being sat next to each other at a dinner party at Trudie Styler’s London home, and Madonna gave birth to their son Rocco just a year later. The couple also adopted another son, David, together, but by 2008, their marriage had broken down. Guy said their divorce was like a “death”, but he did get around…1 min
Heat|Issue 1021Coleen: ‘YOU’VE RUINED OUR NEW LIFE’For a man meant to be on his best behaviour, Wayne Rooney isn’t exactly doing a sterling job of it. Last week, it was revealed the former England captain had been arrested in the US for public intoxication and swearing at police officers – and he spent three hours locked up in a cell while he sobered up (after posing for the obligatory mugshot). Understandably, wife Coleen hit the roof when she found out, especially as it comes less than 18 months after he was arrested for drink-driving, while taking home a woman he had met in a bar. During a furious row, Coleen reportedly yelled at him, “How many times do you need to be told?” An insider also revealed, “She told him he wasn’t to go out of…5 min

But that doesn’t mean she isn’t on the lookout for love – and from the sound of it, the guys are forming a queue. She tells heat, “I’m doing this whole ‘hard to get’ thing without even trying, because I physically don’t have the time for anyone. So, they’re wanting me even more at the moment! I’ve had some lovely offers, but I don’t have the time.” While her life might not be that of a normal 27 year old, Ferne is just looking for someone to make her chuckle and take her out to Zizzi’s every once in a while. “I…2 min
Heat|Issue 1021Stars light up the Golden GlobesWho can possibly forget last year’s ground-breaking Golden Globes, when almost every female attendee arrived in black to show support for the #MeToo movement? A powerful sight to behold, for sure – plus, a joy for any messy eaters among them. But last week, our favourite Hollywood ladies braved visible stains again, rocking up on the red carpet in a rainbow of show-stopping outfits. And didn’t they look fah-bu-lous? We had it all: Kate Beckinsale looking like a sexy lampshade, Julia Roberts rocking a fierce Stella McCartney trousers-and-dress-in-one combo, and Jameela Jamil looking princess-perfect. But as far as we’re concerned, the night belonged to one superstar – and that was Sandra Oh. The 47 year old looked divine in Versace as she posed alongside her Killing Eve co-star Jodie Comer,…1 min

Heat|Issue 1021‘Louise is struggling without Jamie’She’d been excitingly preparing for her West End debut for months, but last week, Louise Redknapp was forced to pull out of the new, much-hyped 9 To 5 musical before it had even made the stage. The 44-year-old singer fell over in the street and smashed her face – requiring ten stitches for a nasty gash in her chin, as well as fracturing her left wrist. On doctors’ orders, she is now off work for two months, but many fans were questioning the length of all that time off. “Two months out for a grazed chin? Seems a bit OTT,” one said, while another commented, “I feel there’s a bit more going on than a simple fall.” Now, insiders tell heat that Louise – who was seen at an exclusive…2 min

Chris had recently been praised for getting a testicular examination live on This Morning to raise awareness of the disease, and his appearance helped Ben decide to get checked out. In an Instagram post, Chris wrote, “A sad day. My brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer this lunchtime, in which we pray for a kind prognosis. He came into my room at 3am the morning after my testicular examination on TV, clearly struggling to sleep, telling me he’d found a lump and asked me if he’s checking it right. And given the ease with which someone breezily invaded the stage at the O2 Arena last year (“He walked from outside all the way through – through the VIP area, past security, onstage and no one stopped him!” says Derm), this isn’t an idle threat. Our strong feelings aren’t based on the fact that Dermot is a heat favourite, who we’ve interviewed innumerable times over the years, or even because he’s a genuinely lovely guy, but because he’s bloody good at his job and deserves recognition. Heat|Issue 102116 Monsters And MenStarring: John David Washington, Anthony Ramos, Kelvin Harrison Jr Director: Reinaldo Marcus Green THE PLOT The police killing of an unarmed black man impacts the lives of three individuals: a witness to the shooting, a cop who has his loyalties tested, and a teenage baseball star who is caught up in the political aftermath. WHAT’S RIGHT WITH IT? It’s a smartly scripted drama that gives plenty of scope to the audience regarding what to think. WHAT’S WRONG WITH IT? The three-part structure – the stories are told separately and barely interwoven – inevitably diffuses the impact. VERDICT A superior US indie drama that probably won’t reach the same audience achieved by last year’s similarly themed YA adaptation The Hate U Give. ★★★★ Charles Gant…1 min
