The networking workshop by Tech Allies presents Technology Ball. It was an incredibly insightful event: Career Power Play: Interview and Negotiation Mastery Workshop, which helped me sharpen my interview and negotiation skills. I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Cynthia Dixon in a mock interview; what a great experience! Thank you for giving me great suggestions and tips! This spring has been particularly memorable for me as I had the opportunity to participate in The University of Texas at Dallas and Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas' Technology Ball Mentorship Program. Through STEM alliances, Technology Ball aims to develop future technology leaders. As a graduate student, I was fortunate to interact with seasoned business executives who took pleasure in coaching students toward achieving their professional objectives.Having a mentor at all levels is essential, as it’s like having your own career counselor. I was looking for opportunities to find mentors with whom I could converse regularly to guide me based on how I wanted to steer my career and my strategies. Fortunately, I was introduced to Tracy Mozena, CIO of Atlantic Aviation, as my mentor, who provided me with a great learning experience. She was accommodating about the qualities employers value in an applicant, guided me through the curriculum to help me pick electives that could help my goals, and assisted me in customizing my LinkedIn profile and resume. I was fortunate to meet her in person at the closing ceremony as a thank-you to the mentors. The Tech Ball program also had a prior networking event this semester, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The negotiation and one-to-one interview simulation were highly insightful; I had the chance to interact with Cynthia Dixon, my one-to-one interviewer in the simulation, with whom I had such a great, insightful time conversing!I look forward to staying connected and learning from you as well!I cannot thank Tracy Mozena, Assistant Dean Gaurav Shekhar, Larissa Paap, and Tricia Shevlin, MBA, enough for giving me this incredible opportunity to be part of this program. Hello, my LinkedIn family!I'm thrilled to share that I have been given this incredible opportunity to join the graduate dean's council at Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas. My interview experience with Monica Powell and Norma Rodriguez was exceptional, and I am deeply grateful for their trust in me to contribute to this esteemed council.Being part of this council means more than just a title; it's an opportunity to give back to my university and make a difference. Each interaction I've had so far has been incredibly inspiring. Everyone I've met exudes passion and dedication, from fellow council members to faculty and staff.One event that I'm particularly looking forward to is OWLIES, the Oscars of JSOM. It's not just a celebration of achievements; it's a reminder of the hard work and dedication that go into every success story within the JSOM community. I am excited to announce that I have successfully completed the Foundations of Project Management course from Google! As a beginner in this area, I had many questions, and this course has been an excellent stepping stone for me to delve deeper into project lifecycles and methodologies. Throughout the course, I was able to learn about the roles and responsibilities of project managers, the essential principles of project management, and the value they bring to the team and organization. I also had the opportunity to unlearn some common myths surrounding the field. If you're interested in boosting your project management skills, I highly recommend checking out this course. Weekend update! I just spent the last Saturday attending my first-ever hackathon at The University of Texas at Dallas hosted and conducted by EnVision UTDand it was nothing less than impressive, and it only gets better, as Tableau sponsored the #Vizcraft hackathon.Starting out as a first-semester student with not a lot of knowledge regarding tableau was definitely intimidating, but the motivating problem statements definitely pushed us.The 17 SDGs were the problem statements, and the best part was the freedom that we were given to choose and intertwine two or more goals if we wanted to. It was a brainstorming session, and we finally arrived at choosing "Affordable and clean energy for all". With the data set at hand, we had to do some preprocessing and data cleaning in#MsExceland started off with visualization of all targets and indicators of the Goal. The Top three Insights we got from the data are:1. The installed capacity of renewable energy has shown an upward trend over the years, but it may not be sufficient to meet the SDG goal.2. Financial flows to developing countries for clean energy projects have shown a downward trend from 2017 to 2021.3. The proportion of the population with primary reliance on clean fuels and technology has reduced from 2000 to 2020, which is not a good sign.We managed to stand in the top 9 teams out of about 60 teams, which felt like a win, and pat on the back even though we couldn't win the final and come in top three! This wouldn't have been possible without my amazing teammates Sai Lahari Korsipati and Bhargav Reddy! This wouldn't have been possible without all the efforts of Mallikarjuna Swamy PSPO™ and his EnVision UTD team, and our ever-encouraging Gaurav Shekhar sir!
