Happy Friday my friends. Every Friday I raise my glass to those that impacted my week for the better, today is a little different. We will get back to our regular routine next week but I still want to make a toast. Today, I’d like to life my glass to my oldest son. As you can imagine, there were a lot of emotions around taking our oldest son to Franciscan University of Steubenville for his freshman year.Today, we drive 857.5 miles from Steubenville, Ohio back to St. Paul, MN. Today, we leave a part of us in Ohio. We shed a few tears, we said our goodbyes, our youngest said, “Owen, I don’t think I can live without you”, we got in the car and drove off. As we started our drive I realized that while 18 is young, he is ready. He has matured so much in recent years. I am sad for us as a family but so excited for Owen and the young man he is becoming and the man he will ultimately become. To his new home, Franciscan University of Steubenville, my wife said it best, “I coudn’t image leaving him in a better place”. Here is to you Owen. I am so proud of you. Here is to all the incoming freshman across the globe. Here is to you, all the parents beginning a new chapter.Remember, everyone we interact with, everyone is going through something today! Cheers to all of you!
