The 2 seed gets a bye in the first round, then has to play the 5 seed, 8 seed, or 10 seed.
The 3 seed gets a bye in the second round, if they beat the 10 seed.
ADVANTAGE - 3 seed.
If both the 2 and 3 seed win their first game, the next game they play is each other. But the 3 seed gets a day off before this matchup. The 2 seed has to play back to back days.
ADVANTAGE 3 seed.
With this bracket format, I would argue the 3 seed has the easier path.

Seems the winners bracket only has one game on Friday but the loser’s bracket has to win two games on Friday to advance to the final game.
Seems pitching determines eventual winners on Saturday. Apparently all of our pitchers will be rested up having played only two games this weekend and getting a bye.
My guess is we go with Benge on Wednesday, Holiday on Thursday, and Garcia on Friday if we are in the winners bracket. If we make it to Saturday go with Benge or Holiday.
We’re now projected to get a regional site, so we will need our pitchers rested for the next weekend.

It is kind of odd that that the 3 and 4 seeds seem to have a better draw than the 1 and 2 seeds. The way it is set up, the 2 seed has the toughest road of the of the top 4 seeds to get through the first 2 days and the 3 seed has the easiest road of the top 4 to get through the first 2 days. Who the heck thought this up, and then who the heck signed off on it. I just hope it is a result of all the changes and uncertainty of conference re-alignment and not that this is the best we can expect going forward.
They should have had the 9 v 10 winner play the 1 seed and the 7 v 8 winner play the 2 seed. Then have 3 v 6 and 4 v 5 as the other first day games. Easy peasy. Maybe I should apply for whatever job at the conference is responsible for this.

Your final paragraph is mostly right. The normal tournament procedure has 8 playing 9 with the winner meeting the 1 seed; 7 playing 10 with the winner meeting the 2 seed.

These brackets seem confusing the way they are structured. The 3 and 4 seed appear to have an advantage but only if they win the Tuesday game. If they lose and end up in the Losers bracket they have to play every day and twice on Friday to get to the championship game.
Teams such as Texas and TCU may lose their first two games but they aren’t going to host a site this year and they are in based on RPI alone. With the pariety in B 12 this year an inexpected team such as KSU, TT, or UCF could get to the Championship game this year.
Hopefully OSU wins at least two games. The bizarre stat is often the top 10 teams struggle in the NCAA tournament and many times the top ranked teams don’t make it to Omaha.
